Captain Jay Withers Bio
Growing up in Middletown Ohio Captain Jay loved to fish.  Since the age of three his grandparents would take him on a fishing vacation every summer to Grand Lake St. Mary’s.  His grandfather taught him how to bass and crappie fish.  Through the years with lots of fishing trips, by the age 16 Capt. Jay entered his first local bass tournament.  He was hooked on the competitive side of fishing as well as the sport.  Shortly after a couple of tournaments he told his grandfather that one day he would be fishing professionally. Years went by with that dream covered up with routine daily life and still were able to keep the dream alive.  After spending over ten years in the diamond business as a diamond dealer and jewelry designer Capt. Jay decided make a major career move to Florida to start his new life as a charter captain.  During his life as a diamond dealer and designer he managed to charter nearly twenty different guides all around the country.  Making notes as to what was good about the experience and what was really bad.  Having that experience with other guides was invaluable to making the decision that would change his life.  After making a name for himself in the jewelry design business he decided to cut all ties and leave the suit and tie in Ohio.
After convincing his lovely bride Amy the move would give them a brighter future along with some never give up attitude, Capt. Jay has now become one of the most respected professional fishing guides in Southwest Florida.  With years of consecutive 300 days on the water Capt. Jay has been able to put together a class act charter service.
